MISER'S 2025 ENDORSEMENTS

There are over a million regular riders of Micromobility in NYC, and everyone is a pedestrian. Together we can transform it into the city we want.
MAYOR
Rank: MAMDANI, LANDER
DONT RANK: CUOMO

ZOHRAN MAMDANI

BRAD LANDER
Zohran Mamdani currently represents Astoria in the NYS Assembly. He is a running on a platform of making NYC affordable for residents, economic justice, and quality of life improvements. He has a long history of working with our Micromobility NYC community in Astoria, including attending early planning meetings for the campaigns which eventually brought the 31st Ave Low Traffic Street to the neighborhood and started the city-wide daylighting movement.
Brad Lander currently serves as NYC's Comptroller -- he manages the city's money. He is widely considered extremely managerially competent, often releasing the gold standard city reports.During Kathy Hochul's ill-advised "pause" of the congestion pricing he used the full weight of his office -- at a time it was not politically popular -- to defend the city and its interests, ultimately helping to restart the vital program.
Both have participated in AMAs (Ask Me Anything) events with our Micromobility nyc community:
Zohran's AMASOME HIGHLIGHTS:"I would meet the current Streets Master Plan's mandates and go beyond them.""I would bring back year-round outdoor dining""pedestrianizing vast swaths of the congestion relief zone,""creating a plan and timeline for building a true bike network and hardened daylighting at every intersection in the city""automated enforcement systems to reduce speeding, keep bike and bus lanes clear"Support for Miser's suggestion of making a showcase neighborhood out of Astoria and fixing all the streets in the whole neighborhood at once"Together, I believe we can send Andrew Cuomo back to where he belongs: the suburbs.".
Brad's AMA"My administration will meet the Street Master Plan legislated goal of implementing 50 miles of protected bike lanes per year. Our bike lane expansion work will emphasize connectivity and conversion of high-use painted lanes. We will also dramatically improve bike network connectivity with rapid implementation of low traffic streets/bike boulevards on smaller streets."On pedestrianizing large swaths of downtown, to take advantage of the “streetscape dividend" brought to us by congestion pricing:
"Cities all over the world benefit tremendously from pedestrian-only streets in their busy central and other commercial districts... And now we have the space dividend of lower traffic from congestion pricing to give these ideas more space, and more momentum.""I support Restler’s bill, so that New Yorkers can report a car that’s blocking a bike lane, bus lane, or sidewalk ... and have it trigger a real penalty so that the scofflaw changes their behavior."
NOTE: Elections in NYC now use "ranked choice voting." This means you can rank multiple candidates in the order you prefer them. (Up to 5) If your preferred candidate doesn't have enough votes to win, your vote will pass to your next preferred candidate. This means you can feel free to rank those you love without "wasting your vote" on someone who you think will not win. You should fill all 5 positions with people you love and could tolerate, in that order... but Not rank anyone you wouldn't want to see win.
COMPTROLLER

MARK LEVINE
Mark Levine is the obvious choice -- a reliable champion for urbanist projects and one of the most visionary leaders in the city.
Levine's AMA"I have made a serious push to pedestrianize broadway from union sq to times sq, and even columbus circle. I also think we could look at starting as far south as wash sq park.""The state DOT is currently conducting a study of possible transformation and modernization of route 9A between 59th and Chambers St, and they have told us they are look at creating additional space for bikes by repurposing a vehicle lane. I’ll continue to push for this. "--City of Yes Zoning proposal - to add tens of thousands of much needed new homes here.Completing the greenway around Manhattan.Expanding access to public bathrooms.Planting 1,000,000 trees around the city.
CITY COUNCIL

EVERY COUNCIL SEAT IS IN PLAY
JESS COLEMAN
Lower Manhattan, Financial District, Chinatown

Jess Coleman is running against the awful, anti-congestion pricing, anti-housing Chris Marte.Jess has called for smart housing, transportation, and policing strategies befitting one of the most urban districts on the planet.Read his AMA here
BEN WETZLER
LES, UES, Midtown East

Ben Wetzler is running for the term-limited Keith Power's seat.Major promises include implementing Sammy's Law to lower speed limits, daylighting, and expanding automated traffic enforcement.
JULIE WON
Long Island City, Sunnyside, Woodside, Astoria

Julie Won has fought endlessly, for many years as the loudest elected voice calling for the Queensboro Bridge Pedestrian lane. She also sponsored Intro 1138, the Universal Daylighting bill, one of the biggest goals and triumphs of the Micromobility movement.
Tiffany Cabán
Astoria, Jackson Heights

Tiffany Cabán has always been extremely reliable on our issues. After the activation of Astoria as the most engaged neighborhood for Micromobility issues in NYC, she worked with other electeds (notably Zohran Mamdani) to develop a specific streets plan for the neighborhood, which is now quoted in DOT presentations as they roll out projects.
Lincoln Restler
Greenpoint, Williamsburg, Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO

Lincoln Restler is a legislative juggernaut.Among the many great bills he's introduced are the bike bounty bill, which would allow citizens to report illegally parked cars and collect a part of the fine, Intro 417, which sped up bike lane construction, and a bill which would cap electric citibike fares at the same level as a subway ride.
Alex Caruso
Whitestone, Bayside, Little Neck, Douglaston

Interview coming soon
Alex Caruso is running against the worst council member in NYC, the vile, MAGA Vickie Paladino. He is a substitute teacher, that is running, in his words to address:
"our housing crisis, building better schools, and having a city government ran by tried and true public servants."
